The November Meeting Is On The 17th!

Don't forget that we our meeting on November is always a week early, due to Thanksgiving And for this month's meeting we will learn about what we need to do to get our quilts ready for judging.  Those of us who have entered our quilts in a quilt show or the fair always wonder what the judges are looking for, and “why didn’t I get a ribbon?” Well we will find out at the meeting on November 17th what the judges look for.  Helen Hardwick is a local judge and has  been judging quilts and wearable art since 2001, as well as being an accomplished quilter.  Her lecture is "WHAT  ARE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR?"

The workshop this month is Kaleidoscope Fans - It features a fun technique of stacking fabric and using temples to get the desired look. Create your own unique one of a kind quilt. Our guild member Cordelia Min will be teaching
the workshop and it will be held at St. Marks Lutheran Church on Saturday November 19th from 10am to 4pm. The cost for member is $20.00 and a
non-member is $25.00. And there are still a few spaces available for the  workshop.

The BOM this month is a simple one, but  can be laid out in many different ways.  It is sure to be a treasured beauty for the winner, in classic red & white.  Be sure to come by the BOM table and pick up your fabric packet.  The cost is just $2.

And don't forget next month is our annual Christmas Brucheon.  I know it's a new word, but it isn't quite brunch or a luncheon, so we will go with it.  It is Saturday, December 10th from 10-2.  It is always a lot of fun.  We still need some members to decorate a table.  If you are interested, see Natalie.  It is a potluck, so be sure to bring a dish to share.  More information will be given at this month's meeting.

Hope to see you there!
